Holographic characterization of chain photopolymerization
نویسندگان
چکیده
A holographic characterization technique is developed in accordance with a general photopolymerization model. The technique allows detailed quantification of the chemical parameters, including their variation from the Trommsdorff effect. The holographic procedure is especially suited for studying the diffusion of the chemical reactants. © 1999 Optical Society of America [S0740-3224(99)01408-3] OCIS codes: 090.2900, 210.2860, 190.4420, 160.5470.

Spatial Frequency Responses of Anisotropic Refractive Index Gratings Formed in Holographic Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystals
We report on an experimental investigation of spatial frequency responses of anisotropic transmission refractive index gratings formed in holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystals (HPDLCs). We studied two different types of HPDLC materials employing two different monomer systems: one with acrylate monomer capable of radical mediated chain-growth polymerizations and the other with thiol-ene ...

Free radical photopolymerization dominates most of the industrial applications of photocuring. The most popular are protective coatings, dental fillings, adhesives, inks, lithography (printing plates), stereolithography but also advanced hightechnology purposes (micro and optoelectronics, holographic data storage, etc.) [1]. Currently, radical photopolymerization is also applied to prepare new ...
متن کاملPhotopolymerizable nanocomposite photonic materials and their holographic applications in light and neutron optics
We present an overview of recent investigations of photopolymerizable nanocomposite photonic materials in which, thanks to their high degree of material selectivity, recorded volume gratings possess high refractive index modulation amplitude and high mechanical/thermal stability at the same time, providing versatile applications in light and neutron optics. We discuss the mechanism of grating f...
متن کاملHolographic Polymer-Dispersed Liquid Crystals and Polymeric Photonic Crystals Formed by Holographic Photolithography
The present article describes the experimental and theoretical observations on the formation of holographic, polymer-dispersed, liquid crystals and electrically switchable, photonic crystals. A phase diagram of the starting mixture of nematic liquid crystal and photo-reactive triacrylate monomer was established by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and cloud point measurement. Pho...
